For thousands of South Africans, the journey to mental wellness starts with a single, frustrating search.

Every day, people across the country sit behind their screens, typing desperate queries into search engines: “Psychologist near me,” “rehabilitation centres,” or “suicide prevention hotlines.” They are looking for help with depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma, or family challenges.

Unfortunately, finding the right mental health support often feels impossible. Information is scattered, contact details are outdated, and many community organizations have little to no online presence. People in crisis are left searching for answers during the most difficult moments of their lives.

Luleka Connect was created to change that.

What is Luleka Connect?

Luleka Connect is an innovative mental health and wellness platform dedicated to connecting people with trusted mental health services, psychosocial support, and community resources across South Africa.

Our goal is simple but powerful: To make help easier to find.

Through technology, strategic partnerships, and community collaboration, we are building South Africa’s most trusted source of mental health information, referral pathways, and wellness resources. Instead of searching multiple websites, users will soon access everything they need through one integrated platform.

Why South Africa Needs a Mental Health Directory

Mental health affects every family, workplace, and community. Whether someone is experiencing grief, stress and burnout, gender-based violence, family conflict, or suicidal thoughts, they deserve to find help quickly and confidently.

Luleka Connect brings together comprehensive information on:

By centralizing this data, we ensure that when a person searches for a social worker in South Africa or a crisis line, they get verified, up-to-date information immediately.

Meet the Founder: Njabulo Madlala

Behind every great initiative is a deeply personal purpose.

Njabulo Madlala is the Founder of Luleka Connect and a passionate mental health advocate with more than twenty years of experience as a social worker in South Africa.

Throughout his career, he has worked in community development, trauma counselling, child protection, and mental health promotion. He currently serves as a Social Work Manager and District Mental Health Specialist in KwaZulu-Natal, where he continues to work with individuals and families facing complex mental health challenges.

One recurring problem became impossible to ignore: People were not only struggling with mental health conditions—they were struggling to find the services that could help them.

That insight inspired the creation of Luleka Connect.

As Njabulo explains:

“Communities don’t only need more services. They need better connections between the services that already exist.”

This philosophy remains the driving force behind our mission.
